It was the quietest birth the Felicity Hospital could remember. Mr. and Mrs. Secof became new parents of a special kitten boy. They named him Joel. His fur was baby blue like his father's, and pumpkin orange like his mother's. Joel was indeed a special kitten as the doctor had said, because he didn't have a voice.

Not a sound ever escaped Joel's mouth.

Not when he sneezed.

Not when he hiccupped.

Not when he laughed.

Not even when he burped.

And, not when he sang.
